We decided to sell our car and get a van. We were finding that taking trips with the Jeep was much nicer than with the car since it has more space. However, it doesn't get the greatest gas mileage so we decided we would sell our car and get a van that will get better gas mileage and we wont grow out of in a few years. This is a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette that we found on craigslist. One thing I really like about it is that it has a built in dvd player Jude can watch on our long trips.

How nice that Agapitos likes your new van as much as I do. I am wondering if Agapitos in Greek would mean "Love-Man"?
I still have managed to avoid the whole van thing since we skipped right over mini-van size!
One van we looked actually had seats for 8. It was just a regular minivan, but the middle seats had 3 bucket seats. I think it would have been hard to get into the very back though. That's why I want 5 kids. It's as large as I can get and still fit in a minivan.
Our minivan has 8 seats, but as they all fold down independently, it's still easy to access the kids in the back. Until we had Erika, the 3 sat in the middle. Now 2 are in the back and 2 in the middle. The 4 year olds can buckle their own seats, so I don't spend as much time accessing the other kids. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the new minivans (ours is a 2004 Chevy Venture) come with 8 seats.
And while I know we could fit 2 more kids, we would never have room for 2 more kids' stuff!
That's the thing, the "stuff" takes up a lot of space. Although you can get those containers that go on the top of your van. Not as convenient though. We also often take our dog with us, who takes up more room than a kid because she wont sit in a seat, she has to be on the floor and then we have to bring her crate with us if we're staying overnight, and it's quite large. We were looking at a couple chevy ventures. How do you like yours? I heard that they are a bit narrower than most minivans.
I don't know how wide other minivans are, but I do know that I can fit a 4x8 sheet of drywall in the back of ours. :-)
We have the dog issue too, though he does sit on a seat, and for the most part, doesn't move. It seems our van is always crammed full of kids, stuff & hound.
