I'll never forget one time when I had made cookies and set them on cooling racks on top of the stove.
My little ones knew sign language words for basic things and one of the favorites was always, "cookie".
I walked into the kitchen that day and there was Ivy. She was about one, too. She turned around and had melty chocolate chip all over her face. When she saw me she signed, "cookie" to ask for one. Obviously, she had already helped herself once! But when she saw me, she thought she should resort to protocol. :-)
Of course, I took a picture too. I also remember that that was the first time I realized that she could reach the top of the stove.
Jude has learned where mommy keeps the goodies and how to get them himself. He's getting so big:(
