I went onto our patio today to find this guy. It startled me at first and then he slithered under our deck where I think he may be living. It's just a Garter Snake and not poisonous so I guess if he wants to live under there I don't care. John doesn't like snakes much so he may want to move it to a new location.

I'm guessing YOU will be moving the snake, not John! We were actually reminiscing about some of John's snake incidents the other day. He hasn't actually seen it, has he?! Keep a defibrillator handy.
Ewwww! That reminds me of the snake that was dangling in Ethan hands as he was walking up to our front door! He was about 3 at the time. It was a very cold day so the snake was lethargic - it looked dead. Proud little Ethan said, "Look Mommy it's No Feet!" That was the name of the snake on his favorite show, Little Bear. I freaked out at first, but was able to run and get the camera before making him drop the snake! :)
I love snakes--the small, non-poisonous ones! But Steve is very freaked out by them.
I saw a rat snake here before. Actually, 2 or three times we have spotted him/them. They are black and BIG. But non-worrisome. One of the times we saw it, the girls were swinging in the hammock and they looked down and started screaming. There was a big, black rat snake under their hammock!

I don't remember seeing that picture but I am proud of her for remembering the camera! I can assure you my recently-three-year-old would never touch a snake; living, dead, or lethargic!
I would have screamed quite loudly if I saw the snake. I hate snakes! So far, Owen also has a fear of snakes. Hopefully, he won't be bringing me any.
It looks like the snake is sticking around our yard. John just saw him over by the fire pit today. I'm surprised he didn't scream like a girl!....and I'm even more surprised that he didn't run and get his gun:)
