7lb 8oz
I weighed Jude today and he weighs 7lb 8oz! Last week he weighed 6lb 12oz. That's 12 oz in a week he's gained. It's hard to believe that this is a kid who has trouble nursing. He does seem to be getting the hang of it a lot better though. Sometimes he'll nurse quite easily, and other times he acts like he's never done this before. Hopefully the latter will become fewer and fewer.

That's how newborns are anyway, each time is a new start! I remember that even though I had nursed before, it still took me at least a month to be able to do it where we both had the hang of it enough to do it discreetly. As he gets bigger now, he'll be stronger and better able to handle that Falk flow. :-)
"Falk flow" too funny! It's true, Beth it's a newborn thing. He will get the hang of it and be a pro in no time. It took about 3 weeks before I felt like Lincoln had it down. From that time on he only takes about 7 minutes to nurse for each feeding...and that will last him 3 to 4 hours. He's efficient! You will really enjoy nursing once Jude starts doing that.
Yes, nursing is both wonderful and frustrating at times. And it's not just because Jude is your first baby. Every baby seems to need to adjust, but the good news is that they all do!
You must be doing something right if he's gained that much! Now don't let him gain too much before we see him again...
He's going to catch up to his cousin in no time. Alexander was 9lbs. 6 oz. at his doctor's visit yesterday.
